Amaning + Blueprint in St. Louis - June 7th
It’s been a lot longer than I realized since I got Traktor Scratch. It’s gone through a few upgrades of the past 2 years. And more importantly, I’ve gotten a new laptop that I’m using just for this. Well, this and Ableton Live, but I’ve barely scratched the surface with that. And I have to say it’s been smooth sailing so far. Like I said before, I’m done lugging around tons of records to the few gigs I do these days. I love this system now and it’s pretty much all I use now at home and for the Konkrete Jungle shows. Having so much of my music readily accessible without digging for it makes a big difference. And using the the built-in effects with looping has allowed me to mix in a way I could never do before with vinyl or cd’s. Bottom line is, this really works for me and I’m looking forward, not back.

60Hz is back at it…This time with Chicago-by-way-of-Boston’s own DJ C!!!! Make sure to peep this night as the damage will come from all angles and all hemispheres!
Beat producer, party scientist, and remixer of artists from M.I.A. to Gregory Isaacs, DJ C continues to spread his fiercely eclectic gospel of bass-heavy, bounced-up dancefloor-blends across the land.
He’s been pumping out a series of records on labels around the globe including a remix of M.I.A.’s U.R.A.Q.T. for XL Recordings, as well as singles/remixes for Ninja Tune, Soul Jazz, Modular, Tigerbeat6, and his own Mashit imprint; sharing the groves in those records with the likes of Sinden, Stereotyp, Crookers, The Bug, Kid606, Warrior Queen, Drop The Lime, Ghislain Poirier, Serj Tankian and many more. Back in ‘04 legendary BBC Radio 1 host John Peel chose Mashit as a “label of the month” and featured a DJ C mix of Mashit tracks. Since then his tunes and DJ sets have continued to evolve into ever-more devastating dance-floor monsters.
